Join us for a unique two-day Tanjore Art Workshop led by renowned artist and teacher Chitralekha Kothapalli, visiting from Singapore.
Tanjore art is a traditional Indian art form that originated over 400 years ago in Tamil Nadu. Deeply influenced by South Indian temples and sculpture, it is known for its rich, vibrant style depicting Hindu deities and sacred symbols. This distinctive art form uses techniques such as gesso work, embedded stones, vivid colours, and original gold leaf, resulting in pieces that are both visually stunning and culturally significant.
Chitralekha has been practising Tanjore art since 2004 and teaching since 2014 through her studio, Hues – Create in Colour. She previously conducted a successful workshop at Chinmaya Mission London in 2019, where participants completed their own Ganesha paintings.
This year, she returns to lead a special workshop where participants will create a beautiful Chinmaya Om Tanjore painting—a meaningful and unique piece.
All materials, including the Tanjore art board and supplies, will be provided. Participants will only need to arrange final framing after completion.
