Chinmaya Mission is bringing together voices from across the world for a Guinness World Record attempt. The largest number of people chanting online simultaneously.
The goal: 108,000 people chanting together the sacred Chapter 15 of the Bhagavad Gita — Puruṣhottama Yoga.
This global moment of chanting is offered in gratitude to Bhagawan and Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, and celebrates the timeless wisdom of the Gita.

Global Gita Chanting – FAQ
Q: Is registration required?
A: Yes. Each chanter must register in advance to be counted in the official Guinness World Record tally.
Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: Yes. A Yatha Shakti contribution is requested, with suggested amounts to support administrative costs.

Q: Do I need to memorize Chapter 15?
A: Memorizing is not needed. However, you must know how to chant Chapter 15 in the tone that will be similar for all chanters.
Q: Can I join the chanting from anywhere in the world?
A: Yes. The event is fully online and open to participants across all regions and time zones.
Q: Can my school, college, or study group join together?
A: Groups may register collectively, but each chanter must register &appear individually on their own video feed to be counted by Guinness.
Q: Can I donate to support the Global Gita Samarpanam initiative?
A: Yes. Contributions are welcome and help strengthen this landmark offering.
Q: Can I volunteer at my local center?
A: Yes. Many volunteers are needed to organize the event in various areas. Please contact your center’s coordinators or the event coordinators listed on the website.
Q: Will there be trial sessions?
A: Yes. There are two mandatory trial sessions for all registrants on April 25 and May 2, so everyone is prepared for the final chanting day. Participants will be notified with the details.
Global Registration for the event
- Each chanter will have their own Webex link for chanting (needed to break the record)
- There will be a registration fee for all chanters to participate to ensure we have the requisite number of chanters to break the record
- Each chanter will receive a certificate for breaking the World Record
We would appreciate your donation towards Registration for chanting and receiving a certificate (per chanter): Yatha Shakti, with a suggested donation to cover the administrative expenses
Guinness Book Requirements
- All participants must chant together in the same tone.
- The chanting must last a minimum of 5 minutes.
- If someone fails to chant for the entire 5 minutes, they must be deducted from the final total.
- The event must be synchronized so that it occurs simultaneously in all locations and time zones.
- All participants must be grouped into individual video calls. There is no limit to the number of video calls used in an attempt.
- The number of participants per video call must be dictated by the number of active videos the video calling platform can display at a single time. (Webex)
- Only one participant may appear in each video, unless the specific guidelines state otherwise.
- A logbook of all participant groupings must be compiled and submitted with the evidence.
- Each video call group must have one person nominated to screen record their display. (Webex Host)
- At the official attempt time, all participants must perform the action simultaneously.
